James Dalton
CEO, JAMES DALTON GROUP
James Dalton is renowned for his 43-cap test career as a Springbok
rugby player from 1994 to 2002, scoring five tries. He was also a
member of the team that won the 1995 Rugby World Cup. Today, he is
the CEO of the James Dalton Group. He is using his status in South
African society to promote safer schools and the right of all
children to a secure and safe education without concerns about
crime, bullying, harassment and other problems that have become
commonplace in our society. As the founder of MY SAFE SPACE, he aims
to improve the educational experience for all learners at all
schools in South Africa.
George Psoulis
Sales Manager, Africa, Milestone Systems
George Psoulis began his career in the security industry in 1999 as
a support technician at Impro Technologies, progressing through the
various acquisitions and mergers within the security sector,
eventually becoming the Regional Sales Manager of Impro in the UAE,
based in Dubai. In 2010, upon his return to South Africa, he chose
to change roles and entered the dynamic field of CCTV surveillance.
Fast forward to 2019, when the VP of Milestone Systems EMEA piqued
George's interest enough for him to join Milestone, equipped with a
10-year strategy for an ever-evolving, open, data-driven
platform.
Walter Rautenbach
MD, neaMetrics
Walter is a seasoned entrepreneur and software engineer with over 30
years of experience in enterprise software delivery and
implementation, most of which has been dedicated to biometric
identity technologies. These solutions have impacted the lives of
more than 100 million individuals worldwide, spanning various
sectors such as social welfare, national security, law enforcement,
elections, workforce management, and driver's licence
initiatives.
In 2004, Walter founded neaMetrics, a company specialising in
identity and biometric solutions. Since 2006, neaMetrics has been a
trusted distributor of Suprema/Xperix/BioRugged biometric products,
actively serving 26 African countries. The company's engineering
team plays a crucial role in customising and enhancing biometric
deployments for regional and international markets.
Walter's
passion lies in simplifying complex identity systems, making them
secure and scalable. He brings a unique blend of deep technical
expertise, strategic business insight, and a hands-on understanding
of real-world implementation challenges, making him a sought-after
voice in the evolving landscape of surveillance and identity
management.
Chris Norton
General Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa, Kaspersky
Kaspersky is a global cybersecurity and digital privacy company
founded in 1997. As General Manager for sub-Saharan Africa, Chris
Norton works on accelerating Kaspersky’s business growth in the
region, strengthening the company’s channel ecosystem, and
supporting local initiatives. Chris has over 30 years of experience
in the IT industry and expertise in building technology businesses
and brands across sub-Saharan Africa, acquired during his work with
well-known global IT vendors. He leverages his comprehensive
understanding of information technology and local African markets to
drive innovation and develop strategies that meet local needs while
aligning with global standards.
Michael Lever
Technical Director, 24/7 Drone Force
Michael Lever (BA, CSMP) has been involved in the security sector
since 2000. He completed his education at the University of the
Witwatersrand Business School. He pursued a successful career as a
risk advisor and security consultant to a diverse clientele,
including residential estates, multi-national corporations, security
companies, and foreign diplomatic services. Michael’s interests lie
in emerging tech, big data, integration, application, and operations
within the ever-evolving realm of security and its myriad
challenges. He is passionate about drones and how this technology is
shaping the security landscape.
Dr Paul Mullon
MD, COR Concepts
Dr Paul Mullon is an information governance consultant and trainer.
He has B. Com (Hons), MBA, Certified Information Professional (CIP),
Information Governance Professional (IGP), Fellow of the Institute
of Information Management (FIIM), Honorary PhD (Records and
Information Management) and is a certified change manager.
He
focuses on implementing information governance, records management,
data protection and privacy, and digital transformation throughout
Africa.
He has over 40 years of experience in both paper and
electronic document and records management environments, providing
him with valuable insight into their interactions in the real world.
His implementations and training initiatives span government and
private sector industries, and his projects have taken him to over
10 countries.
He is very involved in standards development and
regularly attends ISO committee meetings as Head of the South Africa
Delegation for document and records management standards. He also
sits on various other industry bodies developing guidance for the
industry.
Massimo Carelle
Cofounder, The Risk Management Forum
Massimo Carelle has been in the security industry for over 3
decades. During this time, he has filled roles up to managing
director positions. He has led regional organisations and is on the
PSIRA advisory committee. He has over 10 years of experience in
managing, organising, hosting, and MCing conferences. He has a
passion for bringing together like-minded individuals, from security
and risk managers to CEOs, to network and solve risk-related issues.
He is the co-founder of The Risk Management Forum (trmf.org.za).
